Description
Be sure to read the Special Notes further down this page for important requirements and restriction.
When Greeks arrived in Croatia in 390 B.C., they found the Mediterranean-type weather, fertile soil, and pastoral hillsides ideal for growing grapes. Today, Croatia boasts 64 indigenous grape varieties and the winemaking region of Zadar is famed for its award-winning wines. One such winery is Kraljevski Vinogradi. Soak up the serene scenery on a panoramic drive as you journey north from Zadar to the 900-year-old fishing village of Petrcane. Then, it's just a short drive along picturesque roads to the winery, one of the few large vineyards in Dalmatia and Croatia where vines are planted in rocky limestone soil on a sunny southern slope in narrow rows. First developed 870 years ago, the vineyard holds original plantings as well as new with over 8,000 grapevines. Drink in the views while enjoying tastings of rose, white and red wine served with local snacks.
