Step back in time at the incredible Historic Complex of Split, including the Palace of Diocletian, at this impressive UNESCO World Heritage Site. Your full-day experience begins with a relaxing 2-hour motorcoach drive to Split and commences with a guided walking tour of the Palace of Diocletian. You'll begin with a visit to the cellars of the palace, which are incredibly well preserved and offer a good view of how life in Diocletian's Palace was organized. Visit the Cathedral of St. Duje, patron saint of the city, built on the remains of an ancient shrine. See the surprisingly compact Temple of Jupiter, the Golden Gate and the Silver Gate, and Peristyle Square. At the center of this sprawling city lies the Old Town of Split, once an imperial residence and fortified camp and today a labyrinth of narrow cobblestone streets. Enjoy lunch at a local taverna, then explore independently before returning to port.
