Relive Japan's feudal era with an excursion that begins at a 17th century castle and ends with a 400-year-old shopping district. From Yokkaichi, you'll travel to Nagoya, established as a castle town in the early 17th century. The castle itself, built in 1612 and reconstructed after WWII, offers a glimpse into the life of a shogun. For a look at the city's devotion to Buddhism, you'll visit the renowned Osu Kannon Temple. Originally built in 1324, this famous and beloved temple is a replica of its original design. Prayer flags and red lanterns greet worshipers, and the smell of incense wafts from the main hall. Finally, free time at the Osu Shopping District allows you to stroll among the 1,200 shops and restaurants in search of that special souvenir.
