What you will visit:
Vigo, Spain
The main port for Spain's Galicia region, Vigo is a showpiece for true Spanish culture, as it remains largely untouched by tourism. The urban area of Vigo is built on an ancient Roman settlement and an old hill-fort (Castro). Photograph the large sculptures that adorn its squares and cobbled streets and take in its cosmopolitan flair. Casco Viejo is the city's medieval historical center, with its labyrinth of streets lined with café's clubs and boutiques. It's the perfect spot to soak up local color and sample the famed oysters fresh from the sea.

What you will see along the way:
Your guided walk travels along such highlights as Montero RĂos Avenue for the Jules Verne Statue, ConcepciĂłn Arenal Street, Compostela Square and Gardens, PrĂncipe Street and the Museum of Contemporary Art, GarcĂa BarbĂłn Theatre, Puerta del Sol, and the historic Old Quarter (Constitution Square, Cesteiras Street and Santa MarĂa Collegiate Church), commencing at Oyster Street, where stalls brim with local delicacies.

Photo Opportunities:
The sculpture of author Jules Verne, literary ambassador of Vigo is a popular photo opportunity as is the El Sireno (The Merman), the modern symbol of the city. Focus your lens up for this sky-high statue of a hybrid creature, part fish and part man.

Refresh in a lively bar with a typical "tapas" and a glass of wine or beer.
