Take a guided walking tour of Bayona, a historic seaside village. Explore the historic Old Quarters and enjoy tapas and free time for shopping on this half-day excursion. En route, take in the view at El Castro Hill, offering a sweeping panorama of Vigo and the bay. You'll also stop for refreshments at the unique state-owned hotel Parador Conde de Gondomar, located within the walled enclosure of Bayona's Monte Real Fortress overlooking the sea. Enjoy a glass of mineral water, wine or coffee with an array of tapas. After this refreshing stop, take a guided walking tour of Bayona Old Quarters. Your guide will take you through the winding cobbled streets of old Bayona, passing the cloistered Convent of the Dominicas, the Misericordia Chapel, and Casa Lorenzo Correa serving as Town Hall. You'll have time on your own to wander around or browse the shops along Bayona's seaside boardwalk before heading back to the ship.

On Sundays, most stores close and shopping will be limited.If you wish to enjoy more free time at Bayona you may opt out of the guided walking tour of the Old Quarters.

A certain amount of walking is involved in Bayona, including approximately 7-10 minutes of which is uphill within the fortress walls in order to reach the refreshment venue and another 10 minutes walk downhill back to the main entrance. Passengers with walking difficulties or requiring assistance should take this into consideration. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended.

This tour is not recommended for passengers travelling with wheelchairs, walking difficulties or serious breathing problems as there is a slight uphill walk to the Parador (approx. 7 min.). Coaches are unable to pass through the narrow arches within Monterreal Fortress.Details
