Spend the day exploring Malta's rich medieval history on guided walking tours of Vittoriosa and Mdina. Your tour begins in Vittoriosa where you'll enter through the Three Gates of the fortifications and climb to the main courtyard. Freedom Monument and St. Lawrence Parish Church are next on your itinerary. A short walk brings you to Vittoriosa Square where you'll marvel at stunning architectural decorations. Next is Inquisitor's Palace. You'll witness the vaulted colonnaded courtyard and dungeons complete with prisoner graffiti. You'll then drive to Mdina, the former capital of Malta, and walk to the Knights of Malta Museum. Here, you'll see an accurate re-creation of 14th and 15th-century life in Malta, situated in the former 17th-century Palazzo Costanzo, once home to the Costanzo family. You'll enjoy a traditional lunch at a first-class restaurant at Il-Veduta, blessed with unparalleled views of two-thirds of Malta, and a stroll through Mdina, passing historic sites such as the ramparts that protect the city.
Special Notes:
During the Island Princess on April 7th, 2023 (Good Friday), Inquisitor Palace/Heritage and Knights of Malta Museum will be closed.They will be replaced with an outside visit of the Mdina Cathedral and free time.
Attire that covers shoulders and knees should be worn in St. Lawrence Parish Church. On Sundays the Parish Church of Vittoriosa is closed due to mass.
