Take a journey through time to the proud town of Xátiva, the birthplace of two popes and the land of the Borgias on this 5-hour adventure. A one-hour drive from port brings you to the center of town, where you'll climb aboard the trolley train, which winds its way through the narrow streets on a narrated ride that brings you to the gates of magnificent Xátiva Castle. At this compound, you'll visit the castle and the museum of the Borgias, a local dynasty whose power reached its pinnacle in Rome. You'll also see the gates of Hannibal and the battery. Take the train back to town and embark on a pedestrian tour through the old city of Xátiva following in the steps of countless pilgrims through the centuries on the Way of Saint James. Glimpse inside La Seu, the principal cathedral, built in 1596, and the Almudi Museum.
Special Notes:
This tour is of a moderate difficulty with about one kilometer of walking over even spaces. It is totally accessible for wheelchairs or persons of limited mobility, and there is also the option to explore higher into the castle and its ramparts and chambers. All the museums and the initial parts of the castle are accessible and can be reached in a wheelchair. Part of this excursion will take place on a trolley train, which is also adapted with a ramp in the final carriage with space for one full mechanized wheelchair and several folding wheelchairs.Details
