Enjoy a five-hour excursion that showcases Valencia's bustling city life and its more quiet life in the country. A walking tour through the Old Quarter takes you past the 100-year-old North Railway Station and City Hall, the vibrant Central Market, and the centuries-old La Lonja. From here you'll walk to the Fallas Museum for a look at the carnival floats, puppets, and figures used in the yearly celebration commemorating Saint Joseph. Then, depart for La Albufera Nature Park. Covering 52,200 acres, the park is an important stopover point for migratory birds. Take a boat to El Palmar village, which sits on the island in the lake and meander past "barraca" houses-traditional homes made with straw roofs and marvel at the rice fields divided by canals that are linked by small, narrow bridges. The boat ride back to shore drops you off at your coach for the trip to the ship.
Special Notes:
Most stores in the Old Quarter are closed on Sundays. Many of the shops are closed during Lunch Time.
Take into consideration city regulations. No buses are allowed in front of the Central Market, City Hall and Railway Station and most of the historical center.
