Tsuruga charms with a host of scenic, cultural and historic sights, and this exciting 4.5-hour tour takes in many of the city's top attractions. Grab your camera and begin with a motorcoach drive to the lush, beachside Kehi-no-Matsubara pine grove, voted one of the most scenic spots in Japan. Continue on to the Kehi-jingu Shrine, set in the largest city in the region overlooking the Japan Sea. Then, it's on to photograph the Tsuruga Red Brick Warehouse, one of Fukui Prefecture's most prominent brick structures, followed by the Port of Humanity Tsuruga Museum to learn about diplomat Chiune Sugihara and his brave efforts to ensure that Tsuruga port welcomed Jewish refugees with "visas for life" in the 1940s. Conclude the day with a stroll through more than 70 shops at the largest seafood market on the Sea of Japan.
