The museum includes hands-on zones, a research laboratory where you can watch scientists clean fossils, a movie theater, a restaurant and a museum shop.

Echizen Bamboo Doll Village
Dainty dolls made with Moso and Madake bamboo are a traditional art form that began when scraps of bamboo used for basket making were transformed into little playthings. They gained popularity, and soon exhibits and notoriety followed. In the Echizen Bamboo Doll Village, these intricate bamboo dolls are created by skilled craftsmen, and visitors can stroll through the village-like setting observing the workshop, studio and gallery fully appreciating the artistry and craftsmanship throughout the doll making process. Guests are also encouraged to make a bamboo doll of their own as a souvenir.
