Get acquainted with Trondheim's colorful neighborhoods and intriguing history with a leisurely bike ride. After a short walk to the biking center, you'll have a safety briefing. Then, you'll hop on your bike and pedal your way around some of the city's most impressive sights. Your guide will lead you first along the fjord and across the new bike bridge for some superb views of Munkholmen, Trondheim's fortress island and the site of public executions during the Viking age. Pause for photos and admire the majestic Nidaros Cathedral and Archbishop's Palace. Continuing on, you'll ride through the historical Bakklandet district, with its picturesque wooden houses, and the world's first bicycle lift, Trampe. On your way back to the bike center, cross the modernized part of Solsiden, a former ship yard now dotted with restaurants and bars and a popular haunt with the locals.
Special Notes:
Minimum age 12 years. Maximum Weight 125kg.The cycle ride is around 2½ hours over varying terrain, and includes some hills and steep inclines. Participants must be in good physical condition and some cycling experience is required. Please wear clothing suitable for bike riding and take sunscreen. Helmets are provided which must be worn. Pregnant women are not permitted to participate on this tour.
