Board your coach and drive along the Corniche des Maures to Bormes-les-Mimosas. This 12th century village is set in a natural amphitheater dominated by its 13th century castle, built by the Counts of Provence. After orientation, explore the village's steep lanes and medieval covered passageways. Stop for photographs along the Parcours Fleuri, a flower-lined walkway with a panorama of Lavandou Bay, the Dom Forest and the village. View Fort Brégançon, the official retreat of the President of France. Browse the craft studios, art galleries and antique shops during your free time. Continue to Hyères of the Palms, the oldest resort on the French Riviera. Take a guided tour of the medieval old town and explore its narrow lanes. Today Hyères is a major center for palm tree production and export. Visit one of the many cafes or restaurants for lunch on your own, and browse the town's craft studios, flower shops and galleries.
