You'll board your launch at the pier for the approximately 20-minute cruise to Sør Hidle Island. Along the way you'll enjoy views of the harbor, Gandsfjord and stunning mountain peaks.
As you arrive on Sør Hidle Island, get ready to transcend into paradise in bloom. A Garden of Eden that's totally unexpected. To fully appreciate the Flor og Fjære Gardens, keep in mind that Stavanger is located about 59 degrees north, which is equivalent to Alaska. And the small islands on the west coast of Norway are often windswept islands where only short bushes can survive. Still, Stavanger boasts a mild climate and the longest growing season in Norway. You'll get to marvel at the spectacular flora and fauna as you tour the well-tended paths that wind past plantations of tropical palms, bamboos and bananas. During the summer months the gardens are ablaze with color from the over 15,000 flowers planted every spring.
After taking in the splendor, your tour concludes as you sail back to the pier, and your ship.
