Divided by the French and Dutch in 1648, discover St. Maarten's Dutch and French cultural heritage on this scenic coach ride to both sides of the island. On the Dutch side, marvel at the Great Salt Pond in the center of Philipsburg. Continue through the countryside towards the Dutch/French border, with only a sign indicating that you've entered another country. Enjoy spectacular views of Orient Beach, nearby Pinel Island and St. Barth's. Stop at Marigot to browse the open-air market, inviting sidewalk cafés and an array of duty-free shops. As you journey back to the Dutch side, wave at the Frontier Monument, symbolizing the friendly border between the island's two nations, and make your way to the International Look Out Point for awe-inspiring views, before returning to your ship. You're welcome stay in town to shop or explore independently but must make your own way back to the ship.
