Be sure to read the Special Notes further down this page for important requirements and restriction.
Take an unforgettable journey in search of bears, sea lions, history, s'mores and more beginning with a narrated coach tour through Sitka en route to Fortress of the Bear, home to once-orphaned brown and black bears. While observing them in their enclosures, the onsite interpretive staff will share their knowledge about the bears, and the remarkable story of the couple that established this rescue facility. Next, you'll board a boat and explore a glacier-carved fjord. Look for sea lions, bears and eagles from the open-air observation deck or the heated, window-lined cabin. Once at the head of Silver Bay, you'll step ashore at a private Alaskan homestead and learn about early pioneer life while enjoying spectacular views of the bay or sitting around the campfire with s'mores and cocoa. At Sawmill Creek, you'll transfer to a waiting coach for more sightseeing ending at the Sitka Visitor Center.
