Be sure to read the Special Notes further down this page for important requirements and restriction.
Journey to the edge of Siracusa, where you'll discover the remarkable Neapolis Archaeological Park. This half-day tour invites you to wander through history, exploring the stone quarry complex of the Latomia del Paradiso, the enormous 5th-century B.C. Greek amphitheater, and the 2nd-century A.D. Roman amphitheater, where you can follow the gangways once used by the gladiators. From this impressive complex, continue on to explore the historical areas of Siracusa. Colonized in 734 B.C., this city once rivaled Athens in terms of prestige and power. It's a half-mile walk into the historic Ortigia district, through narrow streets and avenues filled with medieval and baroque palaces. Visit the legendary cradle of the city at the Arethusa Fountain and take in the panoramic views of the Bay of Siracusa. Proceed to the Piazza del Duomo, home to a wonderful cathedral that is built on the site of an ancient temple of Athena, then walk back to port.
