Description
Be sure to read the Special Notes further down this page for important requirements and restriction.
While many of the buildings, gardens, temples, and pavilions in this 1,700-year-old city are eloquent reminders of its ancient past, Shanghai is rapidly becoming a city looking towards the future. This excursion includes Shanghai's most modern attractions.
Your motorcoach will pick you up at the pier and travel to Long Yang Lu Station where you'll board the world's first and fastest magnetic-levitation (Maglev) train. With speeds of up to 267 miles-per-hour, the short yet exhilarating round trip will whisk you to Pudong Airport and back one-and-a-half times faster than a Formula Race car.
After your train adventure you'll travel to the Lu Jia Zui Financial district, known as the Wall Street of China. This bustling area has emerged as China's financial and commercial hub and is home to the Shanghai World Financial Center, the world's second tallest building, and 45 banks and financial institutions.
Your next stop is the Jin Mao Tower. At 88 stories, this stunning skyscraper designed in glass, stainless steel, aluminum, and granite reaches almost 1380 feet tall. Jin Mao, which means "Golden Prosperity Building" in Chinese, is a splendid combination of traditional Chinese architecture and modern technology. While the first 50 floors are reserved for office space, conference rooms, banquet halls, and a recreation center, a five-star hotel occupies the top 38 floors making it the highest hotel in the world. Take the elevator to the Tower's observation deck on the 88th floor for stunning panoramic views of Shanghai.
Your tour concludes with a scenic drive back to the dock and your ship.
