Your five-hour excursion into the unspoiled beauty of Iceland's heartland begins as you board your motorcoach. You'll traverse Fjardarheidi Pass and follow the shoreline of Lake Lagarfljot where you'll disembark. Your guide will lead you up the hill to the top. About halfway up is the smaller Litlanesfoss waterfall, believed to hold buried Viking gold. Once at the top, you'll stop and behold the magnificent Hengifoss waterfall. As you gaze out across the pristine wilderness, you can see Hallormsstadur Forest, the largest wooded area in the country. Marvel at the sight of the water plunging 420 feet into the canyon below. After soaking in the panoramic views you'll make your descent down to your awaiting motorcoach for your return trip to the pier.
