Board your motorcoach for the quaint fishing village of Bakkagerdi. Heading into the remote landscape, you'll traverse Fjardarheidi Pass and follow the shores of Lake Lagarfljot, home to a mysterious sea creature. You'll then make a photo stop at Njardvikurskridur, believed to be inhabited by a terrible monster; today, a cross marks the spot where a local farmer defeated the beast in 1306. Upon arriving in Bakkagerdi, you'll disembark for a typical Icelandic lunch. Above Bakkagerdi sits Álfaborg, a rocky hill, home of the fairy queen of Iceland. Nearby is Bakkagerdiskirkja, an enchanting 110-year-old church. The inside altarpiece depicts Christ giving the Sermon on the Mount standing atop Álfaborg. Before returning to your ship, you'll stop at Hafnarholmi, a must-see for bird enthusiasts. A staircase that leads to the top of town offers breathtaking views.
