Spend a magical afternoon that spotlights the simple charms of Santorini, its award-wining volcanic wines and the fiery glow of the sun as it dips below the Aegean Sea on this magical and romantic four-hour tour.

Transfer from ship to shore via tender and board your motorcoach to begin your tour of the villages and vineyards of Santorini. Your knowledgeable guide will point out the local sights en route to a local winery for an opportunity to sample the fruit of the vine. Tour the unique vineyards and learn the history of wine production on the island, which dates back as far as 1700 B.C. Assyrtiko grapes are the leading variety grown, as they thrive in the rich, volcanic soil and microclimate. White wines produced here have an appealing citrus aroma, and the dessert wines, barrel-aged for a minimum of two years, are celebrated for their smooth palate and honey color. A tasting of three different wines, accompanied by local nibbles, is the best way to savor the flavors of the island.

Under a late afternoon sky, travel along picturesque roads to the village of Oia. Pronounced "Eee-ah," it is considered the ideal place to see the sunset in Santorini. Perched high atop the cliffs of Santorini's northern terminus, the village's tranquility is enhanced as the sky turns from dusty blue to soft rose to brilliant orange. The natural beauty of Oia's landscape has inspired artists from around the world, and after experiencing this bucket-list moment, you'll know why. As the sun drops into the legendary Aegean Sea, watch as it dramatically alters the light that grazes the sugar-cube houses, red rock cliffs and blue-domed churches. It's utterly breathtaking, and even though you'll undoubtedly capture the moment with a camera, photos will pale in comparison to the actual moment.

At the end of the evening, return to the village of Fira, the capital of Santorini, where you will take a steep walk to the upper portion of town and meet the aerial cable car ride (ticket provided), your transportation to port to meet your tender. Other ways back to the ship include a strenuous walk down steep steps.
