One of the prettiest towns on the glamorous Amalfi Coast, Positano charms with its candy-colored homes clinging vertically to the face of a flower-strewn cliff, the subject of myriad postcards and photos. A 60-minute motorboat ride brings you to this picturesque town. Once a major trading port in the Middle Ages, today it is a sophisticated retreat for tourism, filled with boutiques, beach shops, and fine restaurants. Your guide will orient you to all the highlights; then, enjoy a leisurely one and half hours to explore the town, do a little shopping or dine in a sidewalk café. Be sure to wear comfortable footwear as the streets are uneven and there are stairs. Many shops sell artisan ceramics, just to look for the mark that says made in Positano to ensure authenticity. At the designated time, reboard your motor launch and cruise back to Salerno with a camera filled with memories of this quintessential Italian coastal experience.
