Enjoy a glimpse into New Brunswick's history with a visit to Ministers Island, which is only accessible at low tide. Your 6.5-hour adventure begins with a leisurely coastal drive to the quaint seaside town of St. Andrews-by-the-Sea and across the ocean floor to Ministers Island, once the summer home of Sir William Van Horne, president of the Canadian Pacific Railway. During your tour of the island, you'll explore the spectacular 50-room mansion that reflects Van Horne's appreciation of art, music, entertainment and the finer things in life. After a light lunch, you'll return to St. Andrews to explore and browse the charming shops and boutiques housed in the historic buildings along Water Street. On your return drive to the ship, you'll stop for photos at Fallsview Park where the mighty Saint John River meets the powerful tides of the Bay of Fundy, creating the renowned Reversing Rapids.
