A visit to picturesque Owls Head, Maine, combines both natural beauty and the ingenuity of human endeavor. This approximately three-hour adventure begins with a drive through coastal scenery to the Owls Head Transportation Museum, for an immersive experience in the world of antique aircraft and automobiles as well as displays that chronicle the evolution of transportation. Marvel at the replica of the Wright Brothers' Kitty Hawk Flyer and the legendary Red Baron's Red Fokker Triplane, both a testament to the pioneering spirit of aviation, and admire vintage automobiles that represent the true craftsmanship of a bygone era. Next, Owls Head Lighthouse, originally commissioned by President John Quincy Adams in 1825, stands as a beacon over the rocky shoreline. Here you'll capture Maine's rugged coast through your camera lens and enjoy a 10-minute stroll to the lighthouse's base for closer views. Conclude with a leisurely drive back to the ship.
