Your 3 hour 15 minute tour begins as you board your air-conditioned motorcoach and travel to the Ethnographic Open-Air Museum, a 200-acre historical park representing Latvia's past. Be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes so you can thoroughly enjoy every step of the tour. Nestled in a pine forest near the banks of Lake Jugla, the Museum is one of Europe's oldest and largest open-air museums - over 100 buildings dating from the 17th century to the 1930s have been painstakingly recreated. Leisurely stroll past windmills, churches, homesteads and a school. While walking you may see smithies, potters and other craftspeople work with time-honored techniques and traditional equipment. Watch a Latvian folklore group dressed in national costumes performing traditional songs. Then, you're free to venture out on your own before boarding the motorcoach for the return trip to Riga.
