- The Acropolis of Lindos
Be sure to read the Special Notes further down this page for important requirements and restriction.
Peel back the pages of history with a virtual reality tablet and headset during a tour of the legendary Acropolis of Lindos. Not only does the site hold classical Greek monuments but reminders from the Byzantine periods and the Knights of the Order of Saint John. After you arrive, you'll stroll 400 feet above sea level to the clifftop. Just point the tablet's camera at various locations and view them as they looked thousands of years ago! The first ruins you'll see are fortifications built by the Crusaders in the 14th century. Further along, you'll walk through the Propylaea to the 4th century B.C. Temple of Athena and watch it "come to life" ready to greet devotees of the Greek goddess. Here, you can marvel at the breathtaking views of the Aegean Sea and St. Paul's Bay before walking back down to the village of Lindos for independent sightseeing.
