Soar over Iceland's countryside and coastline and the lunar-like volcanic crates of Reykjanes Peninsula on an aerial flight adventure that showcases the spectacular geology and unique beauty of the island. After a short transfer by motorcoach, meet your expert pilot and settle into your helicopter seat for an approximately one-hour flight. Lift off above the stunning Reykjavik landscapes and great expanse of the ocean thundering along the coast. Thrill to vistas of untouched wilderness, the Seltún geothermal area, the rugged coastline, Blue Lagoon, and lakes Kleifarvatn and Grænavatn. At Eldvörp in the southwest part of the island, you'll spy a 10-km. crater bubbling with geothermal activity and steam rising from the depths of the earth creating an other-worldly experience. Your pilot offers an informative narrative about Iceland's volcanic history and ensures that you capture the very best photo opportunities from your nimble helicopter. Special Notes:
Flight time is approximately 1 hour. Guests must be able to walk up 5 -10 steps into aircraft unattended. The helicopter is a little hard to access for guests with limited mobility, steps need to be negotiated. Dress in line with local weather conditions (we recommend layers) - with non slip foot wear. Bring a camera!Tour and views are weather permitting and can be canceled at the last minute. As an option, if the weather is unfavorable in that particular area (according to tour description), the pilot may possibly suggest another route if skies are clear elsewhere.
Any passengers over 265 lbs are required to pay for 1.5 seats in the helicopter. This will ensure that everyone on the tour has a comfortable and safe ride.
