Indulge in the pure beauty of the Blue Lagoon, one of Iceland's hottest destinations, during this sensational half-day outing that begins with a scenic drive through Hafnarfjordur, Iceland's third most populated city and home to an annual Viking festival. Soon, arrive at the dreamlike Blue Lagoon, a dazzling, geothermally warmed pool continuously replenished from a mile underground by Svartsengi Power Plant. Swimsuit on, head into the inviting mineral-rich water, known to rejuvenate skin and soothe skin conditions. Delight in the water's milky, aquamarine blueness, a mix of white silica mud and blue-green algae, and the surrounding volcanic rocks. Wade in further to bridge two continents; the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates meet below the surface. Before leaving, discover an array of Blue Lagoon products in the spa's lovely gift shop. Experience the expansive fields of ancient basalt lava along the Reykjanes Peninsula during the return trip to port.
Special Notes:
The drive between Reykjavik and the Blue Lagoon is approximately 45 minutes each way. If and when the volcano is active the alternate roadway maybe used and can increase the drive time by 1 hour each way, totaling 1 hour 45 minutes each way. Total tour duration can vary from 4 hours to 6 hours when the volcano is active.Prior to bathing in the Blue Lagoon, guests are required to shower without swimwear in the changing area. Shower / locker facilities are gender divided but communal (European style).
Towels are included. Its recommended to bring flip flops. It is not recommended to wear any jewelry in the Blue Lagoon due to possible discoloration.
The men's locker facility is on the 2nd floor and there are no elevators or escalators. Kindly take caution when walking in the lagoon area, flooring is slippery when wet. There are handrails outside when entering the lagoon.
