Put on your walking shoes, grab a camera, and get ready to discover Bologna and Ferrara-two of Italy's best-kept secrets. First on the itinerary is Bologna, the Emilia-Romagna region's capital city. You'll disembark in the city's historical center and walk to Piazza Maggiore, home to Bologna's main sights such as the massive 13-foot-tall Neptune Fountain. The square's most impressive building is the Gothic Basilica of San Petronio. But your visit to Bologna isn't complete without a stop at its most recognizable landmark, the Leaning Towers. Erected in the 12th century, one reaches up 319 feet and the smaller one measures 230-feet-high. Then, the time is yours to explore on your own, shop and purchase lunch. Refreshed, you'll re-board the coach and head to Ferrara and a walk to the Ferrara Cathedral and the Este Castle, both UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Enjoy free time before returning to Ravenna.
