An exceptional day entwining artistry and religious history awaits when you delve into the beauty of repoussé, the fine art of copper work, produced by master craftsman Albert Gilles and introduced in a workshop led by his daughters. Begin with a scenic motorcoach drive along the St. Lawrence River to Montmorency Falls where you will stop to photograph this incredible cascade's plunge down a 272-foot cliff. Continue on to the Albert Gilles Art Museum and Copper House, where you'll be introduced to this exquisite metalwork art form in a hands-on demonstration led by Gilles' daughters, who continue in their father's footsteps. Tea and a canelé (cupcake cooked in a copper mold) will be served during this activity. Then it's on to the world-renowned neo-Roman shrine of Ste-Anne-de-Beaupré, where the story of the life of Christ is told in 50 hand-wrought copper panels crafted by Gilles over a period of 15 years. Explore independently the lovely grounds and atmosphere. Return to port on a relaxed drive.
