Witness the spellbinding beauty of an iceberg from a different perspective-from the seat of a speedboat. After meeting the captain at the harbor, you'll don safety gear and climb aboard. Then hang on as the captain revs the engine and heads out into Qaqortoq Bay in search of icebergs. When you come face to face with these towering masses of ice you'll ooh and aah over their bluer-than-blue color and hear their hissing or cracking sounds as they inch through the pristine water. Keep your binoculars at the ready-you might see a majestic whale breaching or a playful puffin diving for fish. When an iceberg is spotted, the captain will position the vessel to get the best possible view and, if safe, you can touch it. Want to taste an iceberg? Now's your chance. Ice will be collected and put in your soft drinks!

Wildlife sightings are likely but not guaranteed. Tour operates in an open boat. Flotation suits are available in sizes S-XXL. Wear sturdy, non-skid walking shoes. It is essential that you wear warm, layered clothing in order to fully enjoy and participate in this excursion. Outer layer should be waterproof and windproof. Bring gloves, a warm hat and a scarf. The level of guide experience varies due to the remoteness of the location. Limited tourism infrastructure is part of the charm here, and you are trading breadth of experience for authentic interaction. Please bring your spirit of adventure and bear with any language difficulties your guide may encounter and with any operational surprises that may crop up. There are no restrooms available during the tour. Minimal walking is required except at the pier loading and unloading the boat. Not suitable for guests confined to a wheelchair or those with walking difficulties.Details
