Explore the wilds of Costa Rica on this remarkable day-long excursion to remember as you journey across the canopy of the tropical forest in an aerial tram, before cruising the Tarcoles River. The adventure begins with an air-conditioned ride through the gorgeous Costa Rican countryside before arriving at the Rainforest Aerial Tram. Here, you will board an open-air gondola and meet your English-speaking guide, who will narrate this incredible, silent glide through the top of the canopy. Enjoy the verdant plant-life, hanging gardens, sightings of wildlife and pretty waterfalls, on the only tour in Costa Rica that offers an exhilarating aerial view of this 222-acre conservation park.

Your fascinating tropical forest experience also includes a winding guided walk through lush trails deep into the forest, and a visit to the medicinal plant garden, past a snake exhibit set in the tropical tropcial forest. The return ride takes you through the lower canopy, where you will feast your eyes upon the beautiful foliage including ferns, lianas and orchids.

Following your breath-taking aerial gondola ride, you will then have plenty of time to savor a delicious Costa Rican-style lunch, which typically includes a pasta salad, rice, beans, steamed vegetables, beef or chicken and sweet plantains. Then browse the rainforest souvenir shop before transferring to a river boat on Tarcoles for your unique jungle river journey.

Upon arrival at the covered landing, you will board a roofed open boat to explore the world famous Tarcoles River, which sits at the Guacalillo Estuary. Noted for its mangrove forests, the estuary is also home to many birds including the cuckoo, hummingbirds, Panama flycatcher, herons and egrets. This amazing river also supports a wide variety of water birds such as ospreys, cormorants, pelicans and thrillingly, one of the largest colonies of crocodiles in Central America. There's every chance you may spot one of the crocodiles sleeping in shallow water or on the river bank. Your friendly guide will explain how life thrives in this incredible landscape before you head back to the landing. Here, you will enjoy a delicious fresh fruit buffet as well as complimentary soft drinks before the scenic drive back to Puntarenas port.

Special Notes:

Tour sequence may vary. Wildlife sightings, while common, are not guaranteed. There are 8 passengers plus a guide in each gondola. Wear comfortable, closed toe walking shoes and bring adequate sun protection. The easy optional guided walk is on a paved and flat trail. But guest could wait for the rest of the group at the cafeteria. Once participants join their tour, they will be required to complete a liability waiver.
