This great weather has permitted the development of the Else Kientzler botanical garden, surrounded by evergreen coffee plantations, gallery forests and clear crystal rivers.Over mile and a half of well-kept trails, will introduce you into the fascinating world of the flora of the planet. Over 2000 species of tropical plants, from Costa Rica and other exotic places around the world, grouped in 500 groups come before your eyes in carefully done manicured gardens, in this 22.5 acres that can be called the Costa Rican Garden of Eden. It was here in Sarchí that, more than a century ago, primitive local artists began painting and decorating their traditional oxcarts in intricate and colorful designs.
