Embark on a guided walk through the heart of Punta Arenas, discovering the city's rich tapestry of architecture and local color on this 3.5-hour adventure. Begin with a motorcoach transfer to Bulnes Avenue, where the Shepherd Monument honors those working the nearby estancias and sheep farms. Pass the 19th-century cemetery and reach the Maggiorino Borgatello Museum, founded by Salesian missionaries. Your visit offers insights into the region's flora, fauna, customs and post-settler history. Next, wander down Bories Street to the iconic Plaza de Armas, featuring a statue of Ferdinand Magellan. Legend has it that kissing the statue's toe grants immunity to seasickness. Here you'll also admire the Town Hall and Union Club before heading to the Cerro de la Cruz Viewpoint for picturesque panoramas. Conclude with a taste of local flavors at a restored pioneer house. Return to the ship, having experienced the richness of Punta Arenas.

Special Notes:

Wear warm, layered clothing with a waterproof, windproof outer layer. Bring gloves, a warm hat and a scarf. You must climb a long flight of stairs to reach some of the displays at the Maggiorino Borgatello Museum and most of the exhibit interpretive panels are in Spanish only.
