Spend a day experiencing the breathtaking sights of the Lake District. With the snow-capped Osorno volcano off in the distance your transportation will makes its way to beautiful Petrohue Falls. Have your camera ready to capture the brilliant green water as it roars over the volcanic rocks. Your next destination is a handicraft market in the charming town of Puerto Varas. Resting on the shores of Lake Llanquihue, Puerto Varas was founded by German immigrants over 150 years ago. Then, it's time for lunch, which includes Chilean and German favorites such as cheese empanadas or sopaipillas, kuchen, and a Pisco sour, a traditional South American cocktail. After lunch you'll travel to Frutillar, another small hamlet that embraces its Germanic heritage. Here, you'll tour the German Colonial Museum and see how the town's early settlers lived. At the end of the day, you'll return to Puerto Montt.
