Discover the Welsh settlement established in 1865 by a group of 150 intrepid adventurers determined to create a New Wales in South America. Your full-day tour begins with a two-hour drive through the Chubut River Valley. Your destination is Gaiman, a quaint village on the Rio Chubut. A walk through Gaiman takes you back in time, as this town is considered the centre of the Welsh region. Visit the the Poet's House Museum. This museum recreates a vision of the world the first welsh settlers lived by showing their customs, rituals, lifestyle and traditional family environment. Next, tour Narlu Farm, dedicated to the harvesting of exceptional fruits, such as raspberries, strawberries, cherries and peaches, used in a variety of locally made products. Sit down for a traditional Welsh tea at Ty Gwyn, the oldest Welsh teahouse in the area, run by descendants of original settlers. The staff dress in Welsh garb to authenticate the experience and a choir performs for your entertainment. Enjoy the 1.5-hour return drive to the pier.
