Indulge your senses with the beauty and flavors of Porto, known for its UNESCO World Heritage-designated historic center and port wine production. First stop is the awe-inspiring Cathedral of Porto. Perched on a hilltop overlooking the city, the 13th century Cathedral is the most important religious structure in Porto and a National Monument. Outside is an assortment of architectural styles, including Romanesque, Baroque and Gothic. Inside, you'll find a beautiful stained-glass rose window, a collection of centuries-old sculptures and a silver altarpiece. Another jewel you'll visit is the Stock Exchange Palace. Built in the 19th century in the Neoclassical style, its interiors feature a mix of Art Nouveau, Arab and European designs with a fantastic Moorish hall. After soaking up all this architecture, you'll discover the art of port wine with a drive to a well-known port wine cellar where you'll taste this legendary local product.
Special Notes:
Not advisable for guests using a wheelchair or for those with mobility limitations. The Stock Exchange Palace occasionally closes for special events; in this case, an alternative attraction will be substituted. Appropriate attire is required to visit the Cathedral.
