Gain insight into the the local culture with a day in the town of Mahebourg. From the pier, you'll travel to the southeastern coast and disembark at the waterfront market for souvenir shopping. Then, step back in history with a visit to the 'Lavoir,' a wash house built in the 1770s. Next on the itinerary is a visit to the Biscuiterie Rault for a tour and tasting. Since 1870, this popular factory has created tasty biscuits using an age-old recipe. Lunch will be served at Karaye Mario, a table d'hote offering delicious dishes inspired from the olden days, when natural and fresh ingredients were not an option A photo stop awaits at Notre des Dames des Anges Church whose views from the tower provides one memorable shot after another. Finally, you'll stop at the Naval Museum, which showcases the island's maritime heritage, before returning to Port Louis.

The local market of Mahebourg is open only on Mondays. Should the tour fall on other days, this market will be replaced by the local market of Quatre-Bornes, located halfway between Port Louis and Mahebourg.Access to the tower of the Notre Dames des Anges Church is not guaranteed. It might not be accessible due to certain events being held at the church during the tour date.
