WHAT YOU VISIT
Kariega Private Game Reserve
Located on 12,355 acres of pristine Eastern Cape wilderness in Settler Country, the reserve is home to the famous Big 5 as well as an abundance of African wildlife. Refreshments will be served upon arrival at the lodge; then you'll hop into an 4x4 open vehicle for a three-hour game drive accompanied by experienced rangers.
PHOTO OPPORTUNITY
The unspoiled Kariega Private Game Reserve offers stunning views of the valleys, grassy plains and African bushveld. And during your game drive, be ready to 'shoot' the Big Five, including hippos, hyenas, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, elands, kudus, waterbuck sand a variety of other antelope, as well as a myriad of bird species including the nesting crowned eagle, martial and fish eagles.
LUNCH
Relax in the lodge's restaurant with a buffet lunch. Situated on the top of a high ridge you can marvel at the panoramic views of the Kariega's hills and plains.
WHAT YOU SEE ALONG THE WAY
The malaria-free wilderness, located 90 minutes away on the Eastern Cape, encompasses five different ecosystems--valley bushveld, savannah grasslands, fynbos, riverine forests and acacia woodland.
Special Notes:
This tour is not suitable for guests in wheelchairs and those with walking difficulties, as they will not be able to climb onto the 4x4 open vehicles Comfortable clothing, binoculars and a sun hat are strongly recommended.The roads in the game reserve are gravel. There are also inclines and certain parts of the game-drive can be bumpy. Not recommended for pax with back & neck problems. For safety reasons, no children under the age of 6 years allowed on the open vehicles.
Guests are not permitted to use cellular phones during the game drives. They are also not permitted to speak loudly or stand up on the game drive vehicles, as this will disturb the animals. Smoking is not permitted during the game-drives.
Wildlife sightings are likely but cannot be guaranteed.
Tour timeline may vary to avoid overcrowding, etc.
