For a glimpse into Phuket's past, take a step back in time with a visit to the city's Old Town. During this design-your-own tour, you'll have plenty of free time to shop, and sightsee and have lunch (be advised to bring plenty of Thai Bahts to cover your expenses). Your half-day adventure begins as you board your motorcoach for a scenic, 30-minute drive. Along the way your guide will point out any particular sights of interest. Once you disembark at Limelight Avenue with map in hand, you're ready to explore. Old Town's enchanting streets feature Thai temples, Chinese shrines and "Sino-Portuguese" mansions like Phra Pitak Chinpracha dating back 100 years. You may wish to visit Chalong Temple, the most important of the island's Buddhist temples. Your excursion concludes with a relaxing drive back to the pier.
