Join your friendly guide for a half-day walk through Penang's capital, George Town, named after Britain's King George III. Now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, you will board your bus for a scenic drive through the city's commercial district to the heart of the Old City. Enjoy a stroll the lively wet market, and watch as the locals barter for fresh meat, fruits and vegetables. Next head to the wonderful Penang Botanic Gardens. Established by the British in 1884, the gardens are home to native cacti, ferns, bamboo, flowering trees, and shrubs. Here, you will also be able to view the garden's long-tail macaques. End the tour with a guided walk through the narrow streets of Little India, where the air is heavy with the odour of spices.
