Immerse yourself in the beauty of the Shakotan Peninsula when you hike the magnificent Cape Kamui. A 1hour45min scenic motorcoach drive travels past iconic imagery. The mountainous terrain of Shakotan Peninsula spans over 30 kilometers in length, extending to the northwest. Arrive at Cape Kamui and you'll immediately understand why it is considered the peninsula's most scenic spot. While you hike along the designated trails, enjoy wonderful panoramic vistas of the sea. At the tip of the 80-meter-high cape, you'll see the Cape Kamui Lighthouse, which illuminates a legendary boulder, called Kamui-Iwa (God's Rock), with its eerie glow. Take some time to enjoy a traditional lunch. Then sit back and relax in the comfortable motorcoach and enjoy your return to Otaru port.
Special Notes:
This is an active tour that travels steep, unpaved, and uneven paths. Not recommended for guests with limited mobility.Wear comfortable, casual outdoor wear and sturdy walking shoes or hiking boots. Bring a light jacket or windbreaker. The view from Cape Kamui is whether permitting.
It is an approximately 30 minute (one way) hike from the parking lot to the lighthouse over undulating ground.
Hiking tour might be cancelled due to the bad weather conditions. If the gate close when bad whether, we will switch the itinerary to enjoying the view from a small hill near the parking lot, overlooking the Kamui Cape and the Kamui Coast and then take photo stop at Shimamui Beach.(The schedule is subject to change)
Sea urchin might not be available for Lunch, depends on season & weather. If so, seafood will be served. Passengers with seafood allergies or vegetarian diets be advised that there is no alternative choice of lunch other than seafood
