Honor Norway's maritime heritage with a visit to a trio of nautical museums. Board your motorcoach for a scenic drive through Oslo en route to the Bygdoy Peninsula. Begin with the unique Maritime Museum which houses the 9th century Viking boat from the largest Gokstad Viking ship findings, and a wide range of Norwegian maritime cultural heritage. Then, explore the Kon-Tiki Museum showcasing the famous expeditions of Norwegian adventurist Thor Heyerdahl who sailed the Pacific Ocean from South America to Polynesia in 1947. Your final stop is the uniquely designed Fram Museum, showcasing Nordic exploration and the world famous polar ship built in 1892. Several Artic and Antarctic expeditions were made on the vessel in the late 19th and early 20th century and the museum is a testament to the spirit of discovery. Return to the pier by motorcoach via a lovely scenic route.
