Your leisurely, narrated excursion offers views of some of Kyoto's most famous temples and shrines from the comfort of the motorcoach. Limited walking is involved, but you will stop for photos at Golden Pavilion and a little shopping. Your full-day tour begins with a narrated drive through Osaka to Kyoto and your first photo stop: the stunning Golden Pavilion. Built in 1397 as a shogun's retirement villa, the temple's upper two stories are covered in genuine gold leaf. Next, your motorcoach will drive by the Heian Shrine, built in 1895 to mark the 1,100th anniversary of the founding of Kyoto. Stop at the Kyoto Handicraft Center for a little shopping, then enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. Continue past Kamo River, one of the Kyoto's iconic sights, look up at Kyoto Tower, the tallest structure in Kyoto, and admire Toji Temple, possessing the tallest pagoda in Japan. Return to port after this lovely and picture-perfect day.

Special Notes:

The drive between Osaka and Kyoto is approximately 90 minutes each way. Passengers should expect traffic and delays.
This tour involves a 15-minute walk over a gravel path at the Golden Pavilion. Some part of Toji temple is under construction and covered.
At Kyoto Handicraft Center accepts credit card, US dollar, euro as well as local currency (Japanese yen). For duty free shopping, passport is needed to be present.
At other venues (Kinkaku-ji temple or other shops), they accept only local currency normally.
This tour is suitable for the guest with walking difficulties as it contains less walking amount - although guests need to take few steps to negotiate the coach. No lift with the coach, wheelchair can be accommodated on the boot of bus but not electric wheelchair.
A minimum of 20 passengers is required for this tour to operate.
