Step back in time on an exciting 7.5-hour adventure through America's past that begins with a one-hour motorcoach drive to Colonial National Historic Park, home to the historic towns of Jamestown and Yorktown. Located on the banks of the James River, not far from the Jamestown archaeological site, is the Jamestown Settlement. Here, you'll disembark for a two-hour guided tour of the Visitors Center and Museum. Inside, you'll see exhibits like tools, weapons and archaeological artifacts. Outside, you'll find a recreated Powhatan Indian village, Fort James, and replicas of the three ships that brought the colonists to Virginia in 1607. Continue to the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown. Your one-hour guided tour includes witnessing a rare 1776 broadside printing of the Declaration of Independence and a recreation of a Continental Army camp complete with military drills and musket firing. Relax on the drive to Norfolk after this fascinating day.
