WHAT YOU VISIT
Bandaijima Building
Rising 554 feet overlooking the Shinanogawa River, this international convention center is the tallest building on the Sea of Japan. From the 31st floor observatory, you'll have phenomenal views of Niigata and its surroundings.

Niigata City History Museum
Located on the bank of the Shinano River, the museum boasts an exhibition hall, an activity space, and a customs house built in 1869. With a waterway designed as a moat around a grassy plaza, the peaceful landscape is a calming oasis.

North Culture Museum
Once the home of wealthy landowner Ito Bunkichi, the villa is famed for its magnificent style and a beautiful Japanese garden. Built between 1882 and 1889, the traditional Japanese style home has 65 rooms including a tearoom, kitchen, and rice warehouse. Today, the museum houses calligraphy and ceramics, lacquer ware and documents related to the Bunkichi family's history.

PHOTO OPPORTUNITY
From the observatory of the Bandaijima Building, you'll have 360-degree views of the Sea of Japan, Sado Island, and the Gozu mountain range.

LUNCH
One of the joys of foreign travel is tasting a new cuisine. Lunch at a local restaurant includes soba noodles, thin noodles made from buckwheat flour and served with a dipping sauce. Following lunch, you can learn the history of sake, rice, fresh seafood, and local products with visits to the Pavilion of Charm and the Bazaar Pavilion.

WHAT YOU SEE ALONG THE WAY
As you make your way through a cityscape of bustling streets, it may be interesting to note that the area has been inhabited for 4,000 years.
