Settle in for a relaxed guided motorcoach drive through Newcastle on a scenic four-hour adventure. Dating from pre-Roman times, this lively city grew during the industrial revolution through the coal and maritime industry and still boasts grand Victorian buildings in addition to its graceful bridges over the River Tyne. Traverse the city, passing some of the elegant buildings built during the city's heyday,. You'll also pass the Theatre Royal as well as remnants of the city walls and castle. Drive along the quayside taking in the views before crossing the river to the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art. Enjoy some free time to explore the city at your leisure. On your return drive, stop to photograph the Angel of the North, a wonderful steel sculpture. Return to the ship at the end of this pleasant day.
