Enjoy a day of time travel as you tour the 7,000-year-old city of Megiddo. Then, step back even further with a visit to Beit She'arim National Park, which dates back to the 9th century B.C. From Haifa, you'll travel southeast to the ancient city of Megiddo, one of the most important archaeological sites in Israel dating from the time of the Bible. Walk among this UNESCO World Heritage Site and see the city gates and the ivory palace where a treasure trove of ancient ivory objects and jewelry were discovered. After lunch in Megiddo Park, you'll tour the Beit She'arim National Park where you'll see the remnants of an ancient Jewish city and underground Jewish cemetery. Unearthed at this site are the remains of a synagogue, city walls, and burial caves. Inside the necropolis, you'll see large sarcophagi with decorations and inscriptions in Hebrew, Aramaic, Palmyran and Greek.
