Nassau
Nassau is the capital city of the Bahamas and is famous for its spectacular beaches and strong British influence in its architecture and local flavor. Paradise Island
Formerly known as Hog Island, Paradise Island is best known for the lavish Atlantis Hotel Resort & Casino. The architecture of this mega-complex incorporates pre-Columbian, ancient Greek and Roman facades as well as a life-size replica of an ancient Mayan Temple.

As you enjoy a comprehensive drive through Nassau and Paradise Island, you'll be treated to a wide variety of historic and modern sights. See the Parliament Buildings in historic Rawson Square, Nassau Rum Cake Factory, Atlantis Royal Towers and Potters Cay Fish Market. Then, make a stop at the Queen's Staircase and Fort Fincastle. You'll fill your camera on this tour but don't miss the chance to photograph the Queen's Staircase, a 102-foot, 65-step, hand carved, limestone set of steps built by 18th-century slaves.

At the Straw Market, shop for fun and colorful Bahamian mementos, crafts and gifts. Popular souvenirs include hand-woven straw hats, bags and mats, adorable dolls, conch shell jewelry, and unique wood carvings. The prices are reasonable, and you can do a little negotiating.
