Then, continue this full-day adventure in Pompeii, where you will view the ancient city's vast archaeological site. Begin with a stroll toward the Piazza del Plebiscito, the heart of the city, dominated by the Royal Palace of Naples and surrounded by architectural gems. Continue on to the Bourbon Gallery, where you will venture underground to explore the 19th-century tunnels that were built to connect the Royal Palace to the barracks. Emerge at the seaside for views of the Egg Castle in Santa Lucia. Lunch at a Neapolitan pizzeria, then drive to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Pompeii, one of the most extraordinary excavation sites in the world. Follow your guide through this ancient city, preserved under the ash of Mt. Vesuvius, which erupted in 79 A.D. Conclude with a drive back to port.
