Treat your senses to Napier's colorful sights, sounds and tastes during an excursion that begins with a walking tour of the "Art Deco City." Learn how Napier was destroyed during the 1931 earthquake and rebuilt in the most modern and innovative architecture of its time – Art Deco. The style, which originated in Europe in the early 20th century, highlights the optimism and idealism of the Roaring Twenties. Admire a variety of heritage structures as you traverse the area, concluding at The National Distillery Company, known for its handcrafted gin. Housed in the former National Tobacco Company building, the distillery offers a glass of gin and your choice of mixer while enjoying a guided tour, including the distillery floor, where you'll learn about gin production and the botanicals that, when infused, create its aromatic flavors. The experience concludes with a tasting session and an opportunity to purchase NDC gin.
